I actually really like that idea.

Greece is tough. I always go after Turkey somewhere in 1936 or 1937. Their navy is stronger than yours, so I ally with either Japan or the UK to provide naval support. (Japan usually because they will ally you once they are at war with China). Once you've got Turkey, you can build up industry and hold out from there. I passed Italy in score by the end of the game, but my aggressive tendencies led to my downfall, and the Allies crushed Greece in 1945.

Have you been able to use the strategies I suggested to play a successful game with them?

To a limited extent. Don't play much of MH these days sadly, since I got some new games and had to uninstall MH to make space for 'em.

OK! Since I'm kicking the crap out of nations with the USSR and the poll says Italy. I'll guess I do Italy.

Japan. Conquer East Asia. Then Southeast Asia. Then Northeast Asia. Then all of Asia. Then the Dutch East Indies.

Even better, go for the United States as well. I read one guy who actually (nearly) did it - he built a strong supply line for oil and landed on the West Coast, pushed all the way up to Illinois and would've bagged the whole country were it not for the US pumping out divisions of infantries, tanks and aircrafts in the East Coast cities.

I'm gonna check this game out, it seems cool.
I bought it online via digital download, I couldn't find it boxed anywhere in the UK. It's a complicated game; I don't mean HoI2 or EU3 or even Vicky complicated, this game is in a league of its own.

Perhaps I just need to spend more time playing it though. That being said, it's worth the purchase.

I need to get past the scary looking screenshots though. Not a lot of provinces or anything.

Mind explaining to me how it works?

Yes, people, Making History is (to me) an obscure game, mind explaining what exactly it is?
Though, it sounds good, because I LOVE difficulty.

You start off with a nation (one of the eight 'major' powers of WWII, or others from Argentina to Turkey). Then you have to manage your economy, your industries, your military and relations with other powers (less emphasis on the latter, unless someone invites you into an alliance or declares war on you).

There are five scenarios to start in - 1936, 1939, 1940, 1941 and 1944.

Its not that hard once you get to know the game for a week or more. Certainly helps if you have played HoI2 or even Axis & Allies.

Hmm.
Can a list of playable countries be seen?

Not sure if there's an online list somewhere, but here goes (from what I remember)...

Republic of China

MINOR POWERS

Afghanistan
Argentina
Brazil

You can unlock even more minor nations - such as Korea, India and Indonesia - by using the editor given in the latest MH patch.

EDIT: Seems like kojack has beaten me to it...
