Question for a game as Germany: When playing as Germany, I've always had a problem with my industrial score. How can I make it higher?

The year is 1858, by the way.

I'm also having this problem. I can't get past of 3200 or so in 1910, while virtually every other GP has above 7000 at least.

essentailly, you need to research techs that increase your population and their life expectency. this is mostly the cultural and industrial tech with a dash of economic sprinkled in there for flavor. Only start building the Army tech when you are expecting to go to war within the next 15 or so years. By 1870 or so, you should have a very strong Germany (depending on who you are playing, Prussia or Austria or another German state. then immediately start building colonies. Take the congo and any other African colonies. I like to go with OTL Germany Colonies and then theiving some OTL Anglo and French ones. definitely take Indonesia if you can. (all of it minus the Philippines) and you should be able to start building a fairly large industry. but you need to remember to fill those new colonies with as many immigrants as possible. And then you need to build your industry in the same manner as you would otherwise.

I have reacently downloaded the 1.3 patch but for some strange reason my population growth is very low... does anyone know why?
Who are you playing as?

Okay, so, I just installed 1.3, and, I've got a rather interesting problem. The flags of about 90% of all countries aren't there. France, Zulu, Johore, USCA? Fine. Everything else? Just a black space. Any ideas as to what my issue is?

Any suggetsions for how to increase your pop's militantcy?

Can't think of anything other than have those elections.

Have you tried changing the party the Kaiser has in power. Certain parties will allow you to manually build factories. That's what I did any way.

The thing is you have to find ways in increasing your population. Population increase can help you a lot. in my patch 1.2 I immediately at the start of the game worked on getting to low health care for social reforms when I did that my population started to increase by 40 thousand a month (playing as NGF) at that point when I unified Germany my population increase went to 60 thousand a mounth. By that point craftsman started popping out like crazy which brought me able to increase my industrial score and have capatilists build factories. By 1914 Germany's industrial strength was at 15000 while military strength was at 1080.

Just had something interesting pop up in an Austria game. The "____ Poet" event popped up with a Polish event in Fiume. I was curious if the event checked for plurality culture or just any culture for the nationality of the poet, and I see that Fiume is actually plurality Polish! It's 26% Polish and 20% Ukrainian actually.

Drowning in cash as as two state, communist Albania, with every possible social service, average factory income at 4-5 grands a day, taxes at the lowest, every slider at maximum (90% for military because I signed the Geneva convention), full subsidies...
I produce 40% of the world's planes and 25% of the world's cars...

I think this is a hint that my military is too small; tbh, my last war was the 1895-1898 balkans war (where I fucked over my allies and liberated San Stefano Bulgaria) :p

(using pop demand mod - admittedly it's extremely early for these two productions - I had the world's first airplane factory)

At this point, every party is basically piling up to stop the constant 48% commie/sozi vote :p

Decided on a 1.3 game as the USA, didn't really pay any attention to the inevitable civil war and just waited for it - except that when it came the AI was on the CSA's side!

1 More troops mobilised in the CSA than in the Union!

2 The Confederate recconnaissance was led by magical faery unicorns, and could instantly react to any move I made, even if I changed midway so did they, and back again, making it impossible to fight a battle on my terms

3 A smaller number of CSA troops could defeat a larger number of USA troops despite the fact that they must have had exactly the same techs available, and the US troops being professional when the mobilised CS ones can't have been

Decided that if the AI was going to cheat then so would I - rewound the game to an 1854 save, see below!

How to beat the Confederacy and its AI fanboy!

Restarted the game in 1854

1. Made sure I had military access in my overseas allies/sphere - Sweden, Liberia, Hawaii, Egypt and Zululand

2. Disbanded all Dixie regular forces, and reordered them as Irregulars

3. Shipped them all off to my overseas allies as garrisons

4. Mobilised and shipped overseas all Dixie mobilised units

5. Built a strong enough fleet to completely blockade the CSA and strong all-Union armies which I based around Richmond and New Orleans

6. Made sure I ordered any Dixie unit that became available, and did so as Irregulars, escorting them to the coast with Yankee forces and shipping them overseas on transports

When the civil war broke out in 1866 :-

...the CSA still managed to mobilise 40000 troops! Despite being already mobilised, and despite their being no allocation in the military building screen

...one of my overseas Dixie armies decided to be loyal to the Union so civil war raged across Liberia as it fought its numerically equal CSA counterpart

...smaller recently-mobilised CSA forces were still able to defeat larger professional Union ones

but I had skewed the balance enough to win the war after a couploe of years, whereupon reuniting the country all the Confederate forces overseas vanished into thin air

:O Do I see the British, making inroads into China?

(Still only speaking from book-learning, but doesn't that spell doom for any non-drinkers of tea?)

You should see the map from my current USA game!

1900 I think

USA 1900

US owns Alaska, Cuba, Hispaniola, Costa Rica and the Panama Canal (also the Suez Canal). Guatemala is independent and Nicaragua is Swedish of course

By 1905 I have dreadnoughts as well

Never been to war with Mexico or with Britain, and the Spanish-American War was won in Egypt
