1. Arabia is not a socialist state?
1. Arabia defines itself as one, and arguably is. My guess is that Wikipaedia discerns countries like the United States and Costa Rica from those like Mexico and Arabia because the constitution of the latter don't monopolize power in the hands of a single socialist party.1. Arabia is not a socialist state?
2. What is that small socialist state in West Africa?
3. Finland is a single-party state? Interesting to see their political system.
4. Oman is a republic?
The Democratic Social Union remains the ruling party and the helmsman of the American state! The United States was in self-imposed isolation under Chairman Smeth, but under Sayl and Hougan has reopened to international affairs and trade, notably with their assistance to the Indian Union in Bengal's war of independence and their short involvement in the Caribbean Emergency. The U.S. enjoys fraternity with several countries in the Americas like Costa Rica through the International Front, as well as historic ties with France and a seemingly pragmatic connection with Russia. The United States is only just emerging back into the light, so their impact is yet to be seen.@Kibbutznik Is the current USA still socialist? Also no one seems to care about it. It seems like a pariah to the world at large, and has few friends. Who internationally and domestically support it?
Nuclear weapons exist and have been constructed, but do not have a significant position in most nation's strategic doctrine. The primary purpose of war in TFS remains the seizure--or defense--of resources, land, and infrastructure, all of which are harder to obtain from your opponent if nuclear weapons are employed in an offensive role. Instead, various empires prefer to first clear an area of its civilian and military population with gas, then move in their own troops to occupy and fortify. Gas doesn't destroy railways or erase mines of precious ore, you see.Are there nukes ITTL? I imagine not if a conventional anglo-american war happened
Were nukes ever detonated in this TL outside of testing?Nuclear weapons exist and have been constructed, but do not have a significant position in most nation's strategic doctrine. For this reason, the British methodology of strategic bombardment across the United States during the Third Anglo-American War is considered quite brutal, as was their response to the uprising in Bengal, and is probably c=the closest equivalent to M.A.D. in this world. The message from London is clear: any affront to His Majesty will be met with disproportionate decimation.
That I do not know, unfortunately. Were nukes ever detonated in this TL outside of testing?
So I was going through the flow chart, and I am sure this was mentioned elsewhere in the thread or in the twitch chat, but while I explore the twitch every once in a while its hard to sift through and find specific information. With that said what is it that the Tories did and can't be forgiven for and what radicals were there in 1889 and 1917?List of Political Parties of the United Kingdom

I can't speak with certainty, as the United Kingdom isn't my specialty on the dev team, but I can speak that 1889 happens to be the year of the Splendid Revolution which turned Britain into a true democracy, while 1917 is the year which the Democratic Social Union began their successful uprising in the United States. You may extrapolate from there...😛So I was going through the flow chart, and I am sure this was mentioned elsewhere in the thread or in the twitch chat, but while I explore the twitch every once in a while its hard to sift through and find specific information. Indeed, our world considers them as such.Using gas to clear a civilian population seems like a war crime
Dumb mistake on my part I meant discord hahaTwitch?
Of course it's no Soylent Green eco-apocalypse (and probably no Icarus-type dystopia either), but why has climate change exacerbated ITTL, why is the world experiencing the conditions of the Anthropocene worse than OTL?
I presume it is a stylistic choice of the author. Climate is one of the most fickle things in the world, if it were not for human impact we'd be in a new ice age now. The fact that the author has thought about alternative climate effects shows how comprehensive they have been in crafting a world that feels alive.Of course it's no Soylent Green eco-apocalypse (and probably no Icarus-type dystopia either), but why has climate change exacerbated ITTL, why is the world experiencing the conditions of the Anthropocene worse than OTL?
