IMHO, the Spanish II Republic was doomed since the very first day. Not only because the 30's weren't the best historical moment to start a democracy 'ex novo' (a system which was already losing ground around Europe), but because the competing political platforms were mutually exclusive. It was the case for the left socialists, with a well-known agenda of socialization and land expropiation, which their 'natural' partners, the left republicans, were far from accepting....but also that of the irreconciliable differences within republican camp between moderates and left-wing regarding questions such as laïcité or military appointments. To crown it all, the Catholic Right reluctantly accepted the new regime, provided that it could influence the Republic from within and forestall any threat to their interests....

Definitely no.... every time one of the opposing coalitions took power, it did it unwilling to give it back in an eventual defeat in the future....because every election were called in quasi-apocalyptic and vendetta terms. In fact the legislative work lacked continuity since the main goal of the rival forces was to undo the achievements of the preceding majority.

That's why I consider that democracy wouldn't last long after 1931..since the only way of allowing stable rule for the country is to secure a long and uninterrupted term to any of the parties (well, the same idea EVERYONE had then indeed !). The best way to avoid any violent outcome like OTL civil war would have been to develope a "soft landing" to a mild dictatorship.
