Elections around the World

While the Turkish changed their Arabic to a mdoern Latin-based Alphabet, indicating a closing in of the Turkish Nation State to the Western Nation States of Europe, sparking a debate in the Soviet Union of Cyrillic Script Russian Alphabet should be furhter reformed and changed, either to become more Western, or to make something up for the modern multi-cultural, multi-national, multi-religious and multi-lingual Soviet Union that would wash away this last remnant of Imperial Russia and create something new and unifying as well. While in the United States Herbert Hoover wins the presidential election, the Workers Communsit Party under William Z. Forster and Benjamin Gitlow who had belived the Great War showed the next Imperialist War would turn into a new Civil War and bring the worker's revolution to the United States, as well as the Socialist Labor Party under Verne L. Reynolds and Jeremiah D. Crowley, who morned the loss of their original candidate, Frank Johns, who had drowned in the early campaign attempting to save a young boy out of ariver. Now he was healed by the Left Coalition as a showchase of a true man, a true socialist labor and a true communist worker, who stood for the people, the masses and was willing to risk his own livelyhood and live for them in opposition to the Capitalist Imperial system the Untied States was curretnly run by. The third coalition partner was the Farmor-Labor Party under Frank E- Webb and LeRoy R. Tillmann, but even together they managed to get only 1,86 percent of the vote. In the End Republcian winner Herbert Hoover and Democratic candidate Al Smith from California and New York proved the United States were stil a two-party majority system for now. Parts of the election campaign had been driven by Anti-Catholicism wich called the followers of the Pope un-American, especially among the still strong Ku Klux Klan. While the novel The Well of Loneliness by Radclyffe Hall is hated by newspapers for it's theme of lesbian love, the Australian Federal Election saw a huge loss for James Scullin and the Labor Party, as the Nationalist and Country Coalition govermnets expands it's majority under Stanley Bruce. At the same time Mickey Mouse, released for the third time, but this tiem with sound in Steamboat Willie is a new milestone.

The Revolutionary Alphabet

While there was some heated debate, the original Czarist Russian Alphabet and the Cyrillic script were decided to be replaced with a more revolutionary one that washed away these last remnants of Russian Imperial dominance and hegemony in favor of a more Soviet and even more so Union and United approach to a new alphabet system. In reality both systems would coexist between one another, but while local regional languages, dialects and writing systems would maintain in the Socialist Soviet Republics themselves, including Russian in the Russian SSR, the new Soviet Union alphabet (Sovillic/ Unionic) would become the generally accepted binding writing system for official documents and texts and always have priority over the regional ones as a uniting factor for all Soviet people without discriminating against any by prefering one over the other system, but instead creating a new one for all. Similar to Experanto the system was later enhanced with a whole made up language for the very same purpose commonly known as Sovieto/ Uniono by all aound the globe and even tough as the new diplomatic writing and language system for foreign diplomats in the Soviet Union, with the hopes it might catch on faster that way. Especially holy books and majorly important works of local ethnic and religious groups were therefore the first to be translated, to not onyly show the Soviet Union cared for the local heritage by translating such important books first, but also to encourage the intellectual elite, as wel las those making new books to adopt the new system first and teach those below them the new system afterwards over time. Similarly the Turkish Republic changed from the previous used Arabic to a more Latin-based alphabet, but later followed the Soviet model and made up a new one that was meant to serve as the alphabet for all Turkic people ethnic groups around the world as a new unifying and nationalist pan-Turkic alphabet for Turkic languages not based upon Arabic, Latin, or Sovieto, but for the first time the Turkish own one, just like the Turkish Nationalists and pan-Turkic Movements ever had wanted. Meanwhile Rio de Janero saw a deadly seaplane crash, while in the United States the construction of the Boulder Dam is green lit. Much more important however, would be the decision by the Colombian government to send military forces to suppress months long strikes by workers of the United Fruit Company, resulting in many death. While tragic the incident boosts the support of Trade Unions, Socialist and Communist parties, groups and other movements in Columbia, which to no small part are supported by their brothers in Centro America and Mexico, as well as the Soviet Union alike.

Yugoslavian Potential

When King Alexander of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in Yugoslavia establishes the January 6th Dictatorship that threatened the nationalistic Croat, Slovene and other anti-Serbian movements and at the same time could give a potential opening for the Socialists, Communists and the Soviet Union backing them. Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, an Albanian missionary sister arrives from Ireland to Calcutta, India, later known as Mother Teresa. In Belgium, the comic Tintin in the Land of the Soviets begins it’s first publication. A week later the Thimbe Theater has the first comic strip of the new hero Popeye. With the advance of Habibullah Kalakani’s forces into Kabul, the Saqqawist rule begins for nine months, while the overall Afghan Civil War continues. The book by Erich Maria Remarque, Im Westen nichts Neues (All Quit on the Western Front/ Nothing New on the Western Front, depending on the American, or British translation) is first published as a book. While overall hated in more pro-war circles and groups, like the German militarists, it is quickly translated into new Russian as На Западном фронте без перемен or На Западе без перемен and becomes a best-seller in the Soviet Union, as it not only depicts the war-weariness of the Western/ German soldiers, which according to the Soviet Union Preamble, directly results in the Kiel Sailors Uprising and the Bavarian Soviet Republic. As a result these German Soldiers and German Sailors were seen as the first true Socialist and Communist Revolutionaries in Germany and the heroes of the short lived Bavarian Soviet Republic and with it fellow Left-wing Socialist, Communists and Soviets. As a result the book Im Westen nichts Neues (All Quit on the Western Front/ Nothing New on the Western Front) becomes not only a best-seller in the Soviet Union itself, but also is viewed as one of the true revolutionary and soviet books, leading to author Erich Maria Remarque later earning a Hero of the Soviet Union medal to honor his literary work, but he had no strong ties to socialism and communism overall and rejected the medal sent to him.

A new Yugoslavia

With strong Soviet Union support for the Socialists, Communists and other sympathetic groups within the Yugoslavian Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, the dictatorship by King Alexander I, of the Karadordevic Dynasty was toppled with some support by the left-wing political coalition, major support from the overall population and the military alike. Aleksa Aca Stanojevic of the People’s Radical Party in union with the Croatian Peasant Party, the Agrarian Party, the Slovene People’s Party, the Socialist Party of Yugoslavia created a new coalition government of the Yugoslav Union around agrarianism and socialism, officially establishing the new Yugoslav People’s Republics Union (YPRU) made up mainly by the Serbian People’s Republic, the Croat People’s Republic and the Slovene People’s Republic respectively. Styling itself as the Yugoslav Soviet Union, or the Balkan Soviet Union attempts were later made to include Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Greece. The Yugoslav Constitution was changed and local Serbian, Croat and Slovene People’s Republics got autonomous justice, self-government, education and other systems, sharing only overall trade, foreign and security police together. With the Litvinov Pact created in Moscow, the Soviet Union, Poland, Estonia, Romania and Latvia agree to settle all disputes between them, including border ones and otherwise by peaceful resolution, basically ensuring some of the new borders and sending a sign of peace and coexistence across Europe. Inside Italy the Roman Question is answered with the Kingdom of Italy and the Holy See of the Catholic Church signing the Lateran Treaty. In a similar vein the Soviet Union later signing the Patriarch Treaties as an extension of it’s previous religious policies, which give control over holy buildings and the land they own to the local clergy and churches, while also declaring that they were guaranteed in their independence and autonomy, when in return they would refrain from commenting or interacting with overall politics and political themes, a sharp contrast to previous agreements between the Orthodox Church and the Russian Empire, or the treatment of religious minorities, like the Sunni and Shia Muslims in the Caucasus and Central Asia.

In Chicago, rivals of Al Capone, the so called five gangsters are shot during the Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre alongside several civilians. In Shandong China, former Governor Zhang Zhongchan a former supporter of the Russian Empire, Fengtiang Clique and National Pacification Army and 24,000 rebels instigate a warlord rebellion against the central Chinese People’s Republics Government, routing 7,000 Chinese People’s Army troops from the province and increasing the instability of China overall. He is backed by members of the Consistent Way/ Persistent Way, the salvation religious sect known as Yiguandao. Meanwhile the SocIntern and ComIntern with support of the Soviet Union Intelligence establish a series of secret communiques and cover coded messages, so that revolutionary ideas and support can be operated upon more secretly to support the Revolution wherever it may break out. Some International Socialists and Communist even back the new Soviet Union Alphabet and a new language they made up for it the Commun Tongue (ComTong/ ComTon) for a truly global lingua franca of the people and masses. Against a growing pan-Turkic ambition and rising Islamism in Central Asia, the Srednyaya Aziya Federal Socialist Soviet Republic, also known as the Central Asian Soviet Socialist Republics of Bukhara, Kazakh, Khorezm and Turkistan were even more so then Azerbaijan in the Transcaucasian Socialist Federal Soviet Republic would back and support local Islamic ideas and freedoms in a Socialist Turkism (SocTurk) and Communist Turkism (ComTurk) as it would be called to oppose Reactionary Pan-Turkic elements from Turkey.

With this new SocTurk and ComTurk ideology was also planned to be used inside of Turkey itself, to Socialize the young Turkish Republic from within if possible to trun Pan-Turkism and Pan-Islamism into Pan-Socialism and Pan-Communism in Asia and Africa. At the same time Centroamerican Socialists and Communists called for aid against the Republic of Columbia were the American United Fruit Company and others dealt in Coffee plantations, Bananas and Cattle hides alike with Santa Marta as their main trade hub. Support however was only coming trough propaganda so far, as any further guerrilla warfare increased the risk of American intervention sin the Caribbean and Central America. Trade, diplomacy, as well as the Central American Proxies were therefor used to deny any to direct Soviet Union involvement, while at the same time also supporting the Colombian people. At the same time the intelligence organization that was the NKVD grew so influential and powerful, that the internal sections, Foreign Intelligence, Counter-Intelligence, Transport Intelligence, Sabotage, Codes and Ciphers, Technical and Operational, Government Protection, Kremlin Command, Investigative Services, Economy and Finances, alongside others analyzing and information gathering were divided up and specialized into their own domestic and foreign affairs part, to not only improve their specialization, but to also prevent any such organization to acquire to much influence, control and power themselves inside the Soviet Union.
