Israel under Soviet Union patronage

Probably not much changes. The Israelis might use more Soviet equipment, and they might allow more emigration to Israel, but that's it on the Domestic front. OTOH Israel's enemies would be much more poorly equipped, since the US isn't going to give them weapons they'll just use against the Israelis.

why not? we armed pretty much every other army who were fighting against Soviet clients.

Not when You're talking about pissing off the Jewish Community in the US, and Giving weapons to the Enemies of a nation that is Fairly friendly to both sides. It'd be like giving Greece kit to beat up Yugoslavia.

It would definitely be a brave new world. Israel as Soviet ally would probably be considered the "crown jewel" of the global Marxist left, similar to how East Germany was the society IOTL that Marxists intellectuals generally favored the most in the Eastern bloc.

Is this because in this ATL, Israel would be the wealthiest, most advanced socialist-aligned nation (much like East Germany was in OTL)?

I don't really know much about the topic, but I was always under the impression, that at least by the 1960/70's, many Western socialists considered Yugoslavia to be the 'crown jewel' of the socialist world, because of their 'market socialism' system and their Non-Aligned status?

This is off-topic, but just interested to get the views of those who know more about this than me.

I don't think the Americans will actually support Antisemitic or anti-israelian states becasue of the many Jews in America (today it's just like the number of Jews in Israel).
You are probably right about the rest, but why (unless Israel takes sinai) should britain remain at Suez?
I didn't say Britain would remain at Suez, I said East of Suez- in 1967 IOTL the British government withdrew its troops from most of the bases east of Suez. These were in Malaysia, Singapore and most importantly Aden. ITTL a continued British presence in the Middle East could be a way to counterbalance Israel. It would be perhaps less politically awkward for the US to support a British colony than an Arab country committed to driving the Jews into the sea.

Ironically Russian support for just another Year would mean a lot of Me 262 Planes in the Israeli Air Force. Czechoslovakia was planning to sell them a lot of Fighters.

Considering what the IDF was operating in 1948/49 that is not at all surprising. They mostly started off with German rifles and such while the Aircraft were a full-on grab-bag, with Me109s, B-17s and numerous other designs.

Does anyone find the idea of IAF MiG-21s exciting?
