DbWI: No Second American Civil War/Great Rebellion?

Has we all know following the tragedy of the First American Civil War or Great Rebellion if you're a Yankee and president Lincoln's untimely death in 1863. The South suffered harsh reprisals and a brutal decades long military occupation. Inadvertently leading to the former southern states turning into a massive powder keg, ready to go off at any moment. It finally did in 1903 following the Richmond massacre. Where northern federal troops fired on an unarmed crowd of southern protesters, becoming the final straw. Nearly overnight the entire South rose in rebellion once again and for the next six years America would once again find itself soaked in the blood of brothers. In the first truly mechanized conflict of the 20th Century, has Northerners and Southerners died in drove, amongst the trenches of no man's land.


So how would it be possible to avert the Second American Civil War and how would things have changed if it never happened?

Well, there might not exist several States in the World. The South while under the Yankee Jackboot had a National Awakening with their brave Independence struggle from 1903-1909 leading as an inspiration to oppressed people's around the world.

Well, Andrew Johnson was believed to be sympathetic to the South. If he hadn't died due to tuberculosis then Reconstruction would have been much gentler.

Well without the lessons of the Second Great Rebellion I'm guessing that the Kaiser' s War would have been a lot bloodier. With it being a long bloody slog in place of the swift blitzkrieg. That noked out the French and Russians in under a year. Along with the British soon throwing in the towel.

Though it did also lead to the European powers adopting a more carrot and stick approach. With the British and German Empire's reforming into the Imperial Federation and Central Alliance respectively. Now both India and Mittelafrika/Southeast Asia are successful autonomous dominions.
