After Disney's proposed purchase of 52% of Capcom fell through, Atari CEO Charles Hirschhorn said a compromise could be reached that would allow Peacock to retain the film rights to the Resident Evil franchise.

According to Hirschhorn, Capcom North America will likely be a joint venture divided among multiple entities.
    Disney Enterprises, Inc. (18%)
    Peacock (18%)
    The Jim Henson Company (18%)
    Saban Metromedia (28%)
    Legendary Multimedia (18%)

In a last minute deal, Rachel Stone-Abbott, whose production company Legendary Multimedia has had a development deal with Disney since 1998, has agreed to purchase Disney's proposed stake in Capcom North America. This transaction will give Legendary a 36% stake in Capcom. Peacock will own 18% of Capcom, which includes the film rights to Resident Evil. The remaining 46% will be split evenly between Saban Metromedia and The Jim Henson Company. Keep in mind, while Legendary has co-produced many films with Disney in the last decade, Stone-Abbott and her vice president Thomas Tull say that their business model with Legendary is similar to that of Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, which allows Legendary enough flexibility to collaborate with multiple Hollywood studios all at once.

That should help explain the scenes where Gidget would sometimes talk to her dad when he's off screen."

Starting this October, the Sempra Energy Center, home to the Mighty Ducks and defending NBA champion Clippers, will now be the Porsche Pond. This isn't the first time the arena changed names. In 1996, the venue opened as the Arrowhead Pond of San Diego. Sempra Energy, parent company of San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) has had the naming rights since 2001. But now, an electric bill gouging scandal has prompted Tiffany Disney to cut ties with Sempra. Tiff, who owns both the Ducks and the arena, is also a proud driver of a Porsche Cayenne with California license plate FLY2GTR (drawn from the "Ducks Fly Together" speech from D2). In addition to the naming rights fees, Porsche has agreed to reimburse Tiff for when she bought back the naming rights to the Pond from Sempra earlier this summer.
