Pam Grier's iconic presence and commanding performance style made her the perfect choice for Marvel's Misty Knight, embodying the strength, charisma, and resilience that define the character. Her trailblazing roles in the '70s as a fierce and independent heroine paved the way for her to bring authenticity and depth to Misty, a character celebrated for her own powerful and inspirational attributes.

1970s cinematic Peter Fonda as Ghost Rider in the style of the other portraits I’ve been sharing from my reality. It doesn’t really matter who plays him since they were masked the whole time, but Peter was an EZ choice.

With his formidable presence and athletic prowess, Jim Brown brought an unmatched intensity to Luke Cage, Power Man, infusing the superhero with both the grit and charm that defined '70s cinema.

Japanese propaganda poster during the Second World War, possibly made around 1943 or 1944. The Nazi German "Reichskriegflagge" can be seen on a ship alongside the KMT flag: part of the thalassocracy's propaganda to conflate the Nazis and the KMT during the War.

(I'm aware this poster is Italian, but it's too cool not to use.)

Following the Second Great War (1939-45), European colonies across the New World and beyond would rebel against their occupiers. The most infamous of these New World Rebellions would be in the Thirteen Colonies and Saint Domingue. However, the rebellions in New Spain would be a slow but painful death for Spanish control over the New World. At first, these rebellions would be small-scale. However, when the Fourth Rebellion in the Thirteen Colonies had started, rebel movements, like in Texas (which declared allegiance to the New Sons of Liberty), would intensify. In revenge for Spain's support for the New Sons of Liberty, the British would also give the rebels in New Spain weapons. Some provinces would quietly declare independence from Madrid, while others, like Alta California, would face the horrors of modern war. In 1981, Alta California declared independence from Spain as the Republic of California after a Popular Uprising in Monterey.

What becomes of lemonade stands as a popular childhood pastime/business, if it's the most predominant form of pop in existence?

"Coke made Santa red" is one of the more common myths about him, though it's interesting seeing a "green Santa" become more popular.

During the war, Washinton DC was occupied by Confederate troops and held virtually for the entire conflict.

The occupation of the city was seen by Southern publicists as revenge for the abolitionist attempt.
The Lincoln memorial was one of their major targets and for some months the Richmond government lulled itself into the possibility of destroying it.

In the photo, two young reservists in French-type helmets have their picture taken in front of the hated Lincoln.
The image should be datable to 1916, as the two soldiers are wearing a variation of the French-type helmet manufactured by Tredegar Iron Works.

Lincoln, despite the failure of the war of secession, and the loss of the southern states, had nevertheless become a model for the Republican party, which had seen the peace obtained by McClelland as a shameful surrender to the slaveholders.
Lincoln never ran for president again, but he remained an extremely influential figure on abolitionism and Unionist centralism. He was twice governor of Illinois and once secretary of state in the Grant administration.

British soldiers marching through the Belgian city of Liège shortly after the outbreak of the Great War in August 1914.

The men pictured above, having recently arrived to eastern Belgium via the Prussian port of Wilhelmshaven, would be thrust into combat within hours of the photo being taken.

Anglo-Prussian forces would eventually stop the French advances outside the city outskirts by September, leading to stalemate on the Western Front that would last until the war’s final months in mid-1917.

Mark Fischbach and Wade Barnes, two of the stunt performers that took over from the original cast of Jackass as they left. Initially introduced as part time cast members alongside Bob Muyskens in 2009, Fishbach found himself being brought on full time to replace Johnny Knoxville when he entered rehab in 2011, as MTV wanted to bring in new talent to keep the brand a float. Barnes and Muyskens would be brought on full time soon after, with the twin departures of Ryan Dunn and Bam Margera, who also entered rehab.

Joel Varg Johansson (1820-1849) was a Swedish-American adventurer and butcher who was most infamously known for his failed attempt at crossing the Oregon Trail, in which several gallons of whiskey were accidentally released into the surrounding rivers from botched attempts at fording them.

Based on Vinesauce Joel’s Oregon Trail 2 FMV Friday stream.

Screen shot of Ultra Mario Bros (1996) for the Nintendo Ultra 64, the game was a launch title for the system and is the best selling game for the system with Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1997) and Metal Gear Solid (1998).
