  1. Bicentennial Man: Ford '76 and Beyond

USSR: There. Now we're even. Sweden: Bitch what.
  2. THICC: The Highly-Inclusive Color Code

FWIW, I'm very happy to see that "Ross from Friends, but he has a gun" made it into the final draft.

The notes stem from a suggestion elsewhere: I was bemoaning how space nations tend to be Federation This or Republic of That and how it was all kinda samey, and somebody suggested going with a musical theme with "Orchestra." I kinda like it, and so a musical motif was born. :) It's also a bit of...

Not deliberately, anyway. Green and gold seem to be dominant solarpunk colors (or at least that's what The Internet tells me) so that's what I went for with a base. Any resemblance to any existing country is largely coincidental because there's only so many colors in the world and most of the...
  5. Flag Thread V

Been knocking about with designs for a flag for a space opera solarpunkish movement-turned-interstellar-nation and I find myself somewhat overwhelmed with choices. So here's all of them in one big design document! :D I swear, there oughta be a law about getting turned around in graphic design...
  6. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

... *sigh* If this is/threatens to be a plot point as we roll into the decade, hit me up in PMs. As somebody who was There I may be able to offer some useful insight.
  7. Map Thread XX

When you point it out I can see it. The best suggestion I can make is doing some postproduction work in Photoshop or suchlike to give the small text something of a distressed look. A little bit of subtle distortion and blurring for that printer's-error look, maybe?
  8. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

I swear to Almighty God and all the saints, if somebody offered me a Trek-themed history eraser button, I would gladly nuke Deep Space Nine out of existence, eliminating hundreds of hours of quality television (and also "Profit and Lace" :v ) from the timeline if it meant that Section 31 and all...

I've been poking at a BattleTech AU for... somewhere around two and a half years now, and this is about the point in the project where I feel like showing off some of my work. With that in mind, here's ~100 flags for the Flag God:
  10. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

I dunno, if Hercules ends up butterflied and we end up with some other Greek myth being converted into a movie, maybe a Medea-centric retelling of the Quest for the Golden Fleece? I'm not sure how you'd pull that one off given, you know, all the murder inherent to the tale but Jason's reversal...
  11. THICC: The Highly-Inclusive Color Code

Considering how big this damn thing is getting, have you guys considered setting up a web portal? Something a little easier for the user to browse and get color values out of than a single huge png? (Ideally I'd love to be able to browse the catalog and put together & download a custom ASE file...
  12. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

If he can successfully butterfly-wing Vince McMahon into poverty, I'll call this a pop culture utopia and never mind the weirdness with Dr. Who.
  13. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

For strictly personal reasons, I kind of hope Barney is still a thing TTL as my life would be very different and maybe not as happy if the big purple dinosaur wasn't as big and as detested as he was OTL.
  14. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

*ominous thunder* (AFA Cadets Behaving Badly is it's own genre in Colorado news/no-shit-there-I-was stories. Especially in the 90s when this thing would be getting installed.)
  15. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

It's not really a major tourist area; the Springs is the main access point for Pike's Peak which brings in tourists seasonally and there's a few western-themed things in and around town but that's about it. Most people go to Colorado Springs for tuberculosis, the Academy/SAC/Ft. Carson and...
  16. A Hippie in the House of Mouse (Jim Henson at Disney, 1980)

Now that reminds me in a roundabout fashion: 1988 is also the premiere of a certain cow town puppet show beloved by nerds all over this spinning rock we call home. One wonders what all the showbiz butterflies flapping about TTL might do to it...

You mean it's not already?
  18. Reds! Official Fanfiction Thread (Part Two)

I'm sorry, but this just breaks SoD. Even in TTL I have trouble believing that Steven Seagal could set aside his ego and not demand to be the hero and the center of attention at all times, especially if he's producing the damn thing. :D
  19. The Crumpleverse

This is legitimately fantastic stuff and a huge inspiration. I would like to very politely request a starmap of human space. Even a really simplified "subway map" would be awesome in helping figure out the geography of where all these places are in relation to each other.
  20. THICC: The Highly-Inclusive Color Code

Unorthodox use report: I've been making some BattleTech maps as a lark, and decided to see how the THICC colorset looked compared to the random set I'd been using previously. I think it came out looking pretty good: Colors used (starting from the top clockwise): Far-Right Japan, Internationale...
