  1. AHC: Major Highway connecting Alaska & Siberia

There was an episode of Megastructures or the likes on Discovery years ago about bridging the Barents sea incidentally.
  2. If Japan had declared war on Britain in September 1939, would the US have joined in?

No, you're thinking on Hms Prince of Wales and Hms Repulse, both sunk 10th Dec. 1941 as part of Force Z
  3. More harsh winters

Brits prepared for snow?! Don't be so silly haha :p
  4. ASB/WI: WWII - Germany Declares War on Japan After Pearl Harbor

If I recall correctly, there was a thread on here a while ago postulating the same idea. In short, it'd of done Hitler no favors as the US by that point was unofficially at war with them as it was and only looking for a reason to make it official.
  5. French Neutrality in World War II

Pretty much the above, what would motivate the French to throw in the towel, as both they and the British no longer trusted Hitler. They knew war was coming, regardless of neutrality. To loose colonial possessions would be politically un-viable, same as Britain giving up Malta to avoid a fight...
  6. WI The internet was never created

I for one would be a lot more dumber!!
  7. The Russian Baltic Fleet using the Northern Sea Route to Vladivostok

Japan Im not too sure of, but its my impression that Germany simply looted Europe for cash/gold reserves as it went along.
  8. Thatcher wins 1990 leadership election?

That line amused me more than it should of! :D It means Single Transferable Vote, its an alternative to the FPTP system of voting.
  9. WI: America mantains WW2 Military?

The cost alone on the wage bill for employing 16 million people, along with maintaining so large an armed forces would be crippling, and what of other things that wouldn't be spent on, I.e infrastructure, education, science etc. This would lead to a net loss in the long run one would assume.
  10. WI: America mantains WW2 Military?

Being rather short of cash for other things in the economy springs to mind.
  11. WI/AHC: Mussolini's Army is actually competent

I agree, it seems bizarre that you'd want several calibers purely for the headache it would cause in the supply chain, but hey, this was Mussolini's Italy we are talking about, not exactly the bastion of common sense!
  12. WI/AHC: Mussolini's Army is actually competent

You'd need an early PoD for that, probably pre-1900. Italy didn't have the industrial base to fight a war on the scale it found itself in, as well as having a woeful doctrine in the field. I'm sure I've read (can't remember where) some units would have up to 4 difference caliber's for their...
  13. What If?: Afghanistan Turn Commie, what's next?

I'm not going to lie, my knowledge of Afgan history isn't that strong.
  14. What If?: Afghanistan Turn Commie, what's next?

Minus the Mongols, have anyone ever really managed to subjugate the Afgans as I'm coming up with nothing?
  15. Was the "Liberation" of Russia and China worth the lives of millions Allied troops?

My first thought was how long until it goes nuclear. Assuming that it doesn't, and that's a big if, option 1 is the most plausible I'd say.
