    Chances are there would still have been plantations, due to the common policy of the empire to create minorities to aid in governance. I think Irish would have fared better but still be marginalized due to economic reasons

    surely, if no war between Britain/France and Germany and Stalin invades westward in 42/43, you could have the scenario of a compact between the three powers against the Soviets (anti communist alliance)

    How about the Russian Tzar's begin a process of mass expulsion of Jews to Russian Alaska from the mid eighteenth Century, say circa. 1730's, you could have an independent state develop ( probably with covert British support by the 1880's)
