MILITARY BLUNDERS- Geoffrey Regan

Anybody read this highly entertaining series of military hist books- MILITARY BLUNDERS, NAVAL BLUNDERS, MORE MILITARY BLUNDERS- by Geoffrey Regan on the worst military and naval foulups of all time ? There are some interesting AH snippets such as re the RN's aircraft carriers around the time of the Falklands (as discussed in the Discussion Forum) speculating that had Argentina waited another yr to inavde the Falklands, they might've been in a better position without the RN having any aircraft carriers at all; and WI the Argentines had been more aware of the British newspaper tabloid claims of how the majority of FAA bombs dropped on RN ships were duds.

GREATEST MILITARY BLUNDERS

Actually, guys, the title's GREATEST MILITARY/NAVAL BLUNDERS for these books. Sorry for that little omission.

I've read most of Regan's books and they're fascinating as both sources of AH ideas and as handbooks on how not to run an army. Here in the UK they are just published as The Book of Military Blunders and so forth though the publishers have changed over the years. Apart from the three you mention Melvin there are Air Force Blunders, Royal Blunders (covering cock ups related to kings and queens and containing the classic AH story of the death of the Prince Imperial), Historical Blunders (which is more general in scope), Someone Had Blundered: A Chronical of Military Incompetence, Backfire: A History of Friendly Fire and Histeria: An Encyclopedia of Historical Cock-ups. Regan also edited a book called Military Anecdotes and was a consultant on a British TV series called Great Military Blunders (for which there's also a book).
